Ground & Whole Products (scroll to bottom of page for pricing & products) I realize that there are those who would rather feed ground products than whole RMB type diets. For some it's about convenience, some comfort level, sometimes it's because a dog just won't eat whole foods. Whatever the reason for feeding Ground it's important to realize that there can be added risk with feeding ground products, but everything in life carries risk these days! That being said I believe that the greatest risk in feeding ground products is not knowing what is contained in them. Commercial grinds often contain inappropriate amounts of fat/bone and other "filler items" such as grains and veggies. Ground also tends to have a higher bacterial content than fresh whole items because of increased surface are in the food. This makes it extremely important to source ground that is fresh and from a reliable source using proper food handling techniques. I don't recommend feeding a diet of only ground product because you loose the benefit of tooth cleaning and muscle/mind stimulation that whole foods provide our pets. Ground can however be a great way to get more variety in our pets diet and a easy way to sneak in organs and medications/supplements when they need them. So after that little intro I would like to list some ground products that I have secured for our feeding pleasure! Below you will find a list of items available, descriptions and pricing. Some products have limited availability and will need to be ordered in advance. If you let me know how much you will need in a months time I will do my best to have it on hand for you. These are the prices for now, once the quantity I can order at one time goes up the prices will drop accordingly. So they should only get better as more people order. ALL PRODUCTS are from Hormone and Antibiotic free animals! All Lamb & Goat products are grass fed Mostly free range the Lambs & Goats are summered on mountain or desert ranges. During the winter they are brought into pastures and fed hay, straw & onions. Beef Grass fed beef are typically breeding stock. They are also usually summered on mountains or desert ranges. While some are kept on those ranges year round the majority are brought in for winter and given hay and straws (oat straw, corn straw, barley straw) Corn fed beef will be kept out of our food supply! Mixed Meats At this time of year we have game mixes. Elk, Venison, Moose, and Antelope. They are not separated by species so a game mix may include one or all of the above mentioned animals. Pancreas They will be setting this aside for us as a special request. It will only be from grass fed animals, mostly beef but could be from other large game animals & buffalo. It takes a lot of animals to come up with a pound of pancreas so quantities will be limited and fresh. I advise putting in a standing order if you have a sick dog that requires pancreas for better digestion. Custom Blends Custom blends can be run with a minimum order of 100 lbs of that blend. Ask me if you have something in mind. Products are from a small UDAF inspected meat plant. All items regardless of their destination are upheld to USDA standards. Products are NOT DENATURED! There are no minimum purchase amounts. Orders do not need to be paid for in advance. However, if you are wanting a large quantity of an item I need to know so that I can have it on hand. Thanks for your participation! Erika :) |
